Loren's effort to beat Mar shows
Bobit Avila’s “Straight from the Sky” celebrated its 10th anniversary. When it comes to topics for discussion Bobit goes straight even beyond the sky.

What I’m saying is the sky is not the limit for Bobit’s wide array of topics.

Upon being told that I’m about to hit 80, my friend Nonoy (not Noynoy) Sandejas in Bacolod texted me: “How are you doing,l Bai?” I said: “Well, still alive and creaking.”
* * *
I did not elaborate on “creaking.” It’s common among ... Oh, well, it’s different from “kicking.”

I read this headline in Philstar: “DOLE plans to give out female condoms.” I wanted to comment but I decided to tell myself ... Sssh.

I heard a movie actor say on tv: “Sorry but I think whatever a woman can do, men can also do and much better.” He forgot that men can’t get pregnant. Show me a man nga namabdos, bi.

It says here that turtles are disappearing from the seashores. Many of them are found in the government bureacracy.

I received an election campaign material from my friend Justice Regalado “Dodong” Maambong. A true blue Cebuano, Dodong is running for senator under the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino of Erap Estrada.
* * *
There’s a long list of key positions in the government that Dodong filled under three Presidents. I have no space for all of these. But suffice it to say that Dodong Maambong is: “Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Maka-tarungan, Cebuano at Maka-Bayang Pilipino.”

I watched ABS-CBN new political program titled “Harapan.” It kicked off with a debate among the vice presidentiables. I was amused to hear Sen. Loren Legarda putting down Sen. Mar Roxas in an apparent effort to catch up with the front-running (in the surveys) Mar Roxas.
* * *
Loren tried to belittle Mar’s authoring the Cheaper Medicines Act. But the Capiceno also belittled Legarda’s tirade by telling her that the medicines she has been taking now cost much, much cheaper now with the passage of the Cheaper Medicines Act.
