His peers think Manny is the root of all evil?

“Musicians Nabbed for Drug Pushing” — Headline. These guys must be made to face the music.

A rabid fan of Manny Villar asked me: “Do you think that this C-5 project controversy would be Manny’s road to perdition?”

The way some senators treat their peer Manny Villar, it seems that they think Manny is the root of all evil.

The virtual stoning of Manny Villar by some of his peers proves once more what my grandfather used to say: “Ang tam-is nga mangga mao gyoy batoon.”

A monsignor I know says we must vote for candidates who know how to pray and are leading prayerful lives. One of them is Bro. Eddie Villanueva, yes? Many others only know how to prey.

My friend Leonardo “Daido” Angel wants the Quezon City jail authorities to copy Cebu’s “Dancing Inmates.” He wants to see Andal Ampatuan Jr. dance a-la Michael Jackson.

I now have the answer to the question asked by many city and town residents: The Don Vicente and Inday Pining Rivera Gullas Museum (Ang Tipiganan sa mga Kanta ug Kinaiyang Sugbuanon) will officially open to the general public on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. There will be a minimal admission fee of P10 for children and P20 for adults to be used for the maintenance of the museum (all museums have admission fees).

This museum, a love project of Sir Dodong Gullas, is located in the old The Freeman building, V. Gullas St. It will be open from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12 noon and from 1 to 4 pm.

Rene, my nephew, runs a modest Internet Café in Punta Princesa. Robbers broke into the café one night and made off with four flat-screen computers with CPUs. He reported the robbery to the cops and one of them has been “following up” the case, assuring my nephew he’d solve it and get back the stolen computers.

The victim told me he has already shelled out quite a sum for the cop who claims he has already ascertained who the robbers are, but no solution is in sight. Now a friend of mine from another law enforcement outfit wants to help solve the case.

A fellow journalist from an Asian country asked me: “Do robbery victims have to pay the policeman following up a citizen’s complaint about a robbery? Isn’t he paid by your government to do the job?” I said “shut up” you don’t know my country.

Congrats to The Freeman photojournalist Aldo Nelbert Banaynal for copping a major prize in the Sinulog 2010 photo contest.
