So if you're stressed by problems like lack of money, tough office work, problematic lovelife, etc., laugh even if the world would stare at you and ask: Why?

Elizabeth Scott, M.S., in an article ("The Laughing Cure") in the "Healthy Options" magazine, said: "Research has shown health benefits of laughter ranging from strenghtening the immune system to reducing food cravings to increasing one's threshold for pain."

According to Ms. Scott, "there's even an emerging field known as humor therapy to help people heal more quickly, among other things. Humor also has several important stress relieving benefits."

Ms. Scott writes: "Laughter is one of my all-time favorite stress management strategies because it's free, convenient, and beneficial in so many ways."

E-mail from Romulo "Romy" See of Talisay City: "I was listening to this disc jockey of a local radio station one midnight recently. I was amused by his manner of speaking English. He was trying hard to sound American to the point that he sounded funny."

I recall what a Australian said to me some years ago. After listening to a radio DJ, he said: "Why can't your DJs just be natural? There's nothing wrong with Filipino English as long as the grammar is right."
