POLITICAL SPEECH. A string quartet performed during a golf awarding last Saturday. After the wonderful performance, a former mayor (who is seeking reelection) stood up and gave a speech. The Ear informer said that he wasn’t supposed to give a speech at the program. The former mayor said that when he was mayor, he used to give P300,000 to the musical foundation.

SELF PROMOTION. While this former mayor sang his own praises during his speech, he also couldn’t resist poking at his political rival when he said, “Pagkahuman nako, ambot naunsa na.” Several people had their eyebrows raised. The informer commented, “Hahay ning mga politiko. Bisan asa ibutang, mahilig gyud mo-promote sa ilang kaugalingon.”
