The snatchers can tell fancy jewelry from genuine

- The Ear -

FANCY JEWELRY. A policeman-friend of The Ear said “veteran snatchers” can tell a fancy jewelry from a genuine one. He was right. One day last week, an elderly woman standing near the Citilink terminal was approached by three boys - believed to be snatchers - one of whom said to the woman after looking at her earrings: “Tiguwang ka…nganong ariyos-ariyos man ka’g pansi!” The woman was stunned, then later asked his companion: “Nganong nahibaw man siya nga pansi akong ariyos? She added: May nalang wa ko mangariyos og genuine.”

ROOMRATES UP. A retired mediaman told The Ear that every Valentine’s Day the motels raise their “short time rates”. There are others who don’t raise their rates but reduce the number of hours for short time from three to two hours. “Di lang buwak kusog halin… mga motel sad,” the ex-newsman said.
