Streetkids love to swim in floodwaters

INSTANT SWIMMING POOL. A group of street children were seen at the corner of Sikatuna and Bonifacio Sts. yesterday afternoon frolicking in the floodwaters caused by the sudden rain. They had fun cheering on the vehicles struggling to wade across the deep pool. When the vehicles would successfully cross the pool, the kids would clap their hands and yell “Wohoo!” or “Yehey!”.

HEALTH RISKS. Many kids were also seen swimming and splashing around the instant swimming pool unmindful of the health hazards the dirty water brings. Two nurses onboard a jeepney passed by the swimming children and commented, “Sus ning mga bataa. Wala gyud sila nabalaka sa mga sakit makuha nila sa baha. Ayay, ang leptospirosis ug skin disease unya ana. Tsk!”
