Makers of souvenir items use ‘illegal’ wood

EXPENSIVE SOUVENIRS. An Ear informer was shopping around souvenir shops in the city when she spotted an exquisite wooden piece. When the salesgirl told her the price, she said, "Ngano mahal man kaayo?" The salesgirl answered, "illegal man gud ang kahoy among gigamit ni ani."

ILLEGAL WOOD. The salesgirl confessed that the kind of hard wood they use has been banned by the DENR. She said, "Kadlawon mi ana mo transport sa kahoy para dili masakpan. Ma-o nang mahal ning klaseng kahoya."
