'Thank you' a phrase often taken for granted

One senatorial bet with the smartest and most catchy slogan is Rep. Prospero Pitchay. It says: "Pitchay itanom sa Senado"
A pro-environment program called Green Philippines is one of the targets of GMA. This is where Pros Pitchay comes in and fits in well.
Actor Cesar Montano is running for senator. And the gamblers are betting who between Cesar and Richard Gomez would get more votes. The betting is not on who of the two actors would win.
The opposition says Team Unity of Ate Glo is not so united, well, the Team members know that united they stand, divided they're fools.
If it's true that Team Unity is not so united, it behooves its leaders to bear in mind what Benjamin Franklin said: "We must all hang together or we shall all hang separately."
The opposition is suggesting that Team Unity be changed to Team Disunity. Unfortunately, Ate Glo's team is not like the opposition which keeps changing its name. First it was UNO. Then Grand Coalition. Now it's known as Genuine Opposition. Oh, see?
A total of 42 senatorial candidates have been scratched from the list by Comelec. No, not because they're nuisance - but for being no-chance candidates.
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry says: "Poll spending to boost economy." Good! By the way, poll spending includes the cashing of votes on election day, yes?
Levity aside now, I just read the column of Mons Romulo-Tantoco (Phil Star, Feb. 18/07) where she asked, "what word or phrase do you wish people would say more often?" Cebu businessman Michel Lhuillier's answer: " 'Thank you.' It's a phrase we often take for granted. "
I agree with Michel. A lot of people often take this phrase for granted, even if there is a need for them to say it. I remember my boss, Sir Dodong Gullas, saying: "We must always say 'thank you' to people from whom we receive favors big or small." Gratitude tops Sir Dodong's list of virtues.
