Letter to the Editor - In defense of Rev. Fr. Jun Figues

This has reference to the unfair and unkind propaganda being hurled and circulated against the Reverend Father, Jun Figues, the beloved Parish Priest of Consolacion, for alleged manhandling and mauling of an errand boy of San Narciso Parish.

These allegations are indeed unfair and unkind as they are completely false and fabricated in order for the errand boy to get back at Father Jun Figues.

The incident happened at the height of the Fiesta Celebration on October 29, 2006 and in the presence of many churchgoers when Father Jun Figues confronted the errand boy and held him by the face in order for the errand boy to listen intently to Father Jun as this errand boy just seems to ignore all the reminders and reprimands that were made to him.

He was being asked to explain why he failed to perform his tasks and functions and why he was nowhere to be found most of the time on that day. This was all that really happened and then, all of a sudden, the bloated news in the radio and other media outlets has portrayed that Father Jun Figues has already manhandled and mauled the errand boy. Then the sarcastic remarks and unfair reporting of some media personnel have depicted that Father Jun is already a monster. This story finds no legal and moral basis for us to believe as I am the first person who can firmly attest the tenderness and softhearted attitude and behavior of our beloved Parish Priest. I stand as witness that in so many instances, the mass would have already started without the electric fans and other necessary gadgets being put in place by the errand boy. I am a keen observer of this because my wife and I used to attend mass almost everyday and we are always seated in front of the altar near the Officiating Priest.

So, it was then, that on this same day the errand boy has failed to perform his task and has been very neglectful of his routine tasks in the morning and all through the day he was observed to be escaping from his job and has been very forgetful to his routinary tasks and functions which he is expected to perform before, during and after the mass.

This fact can be attested to by the assistant parish priest and other fellow church workers who have also observed the behavior and attitude of this errand boy which they have all complained to Father Jun regarding the seriousness of the repetitious misdeeds of this person.

Hoping we have made ourselves clear and the matter.
