That the CPP/NDF/NPA purged its own is no hoax!

Call it the height of arrogance that Norkis Group of Companies Chairman Norberto Quisumbing Jr. (NQJR) would declare his support to Rep. Nerissa Soon-Ruiz, while at the same time declare that he is transferring the operations of Norkis Trading away from Mandaue City. Is NQJR leaving Mandaue City because the business climate is bad for business (something that other businessmen do not agree with him) or is it because NQJR was pissed at Mayor Teddy Ouano for demanding the return of a Mandaue City property he was using for a showroom? Perhaps the issue is really political, that NQJR cannot put Mayor Teddy Ouano in his pocket? Abangan!
I got an early call from Mr. Rodolfo "Boy" Solon who called me in my office to inform me that he wholehearted supported my call to rid Cebu of plastic waste that ends up polluting the Port of Cebu. Like many of us who used to go to Carbon or in the early 50s in T-Padilla to do our marketing chores, Mr. Solon still recalls that he never used plastic bags during those days when they go to the market. Rather, we use a basket or "Buyot." There's no reason why we can't return to those "better" days.
We do not need international organizations like Greenpeace to teach us that we also need to do our part in cleaning up our surroundings. If there's filth in our neighborhood, we are going to suffer from it; more importantly, we believe in that dictum,"Cleanliness is next to Godliness" so let's do our share to clean up Cebu, not because the 12th ASEAN Summit is fast approaching, but rather because its good for us!
We would like to enlist all the civic clubs, like Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and our professional clubs like the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, (CCCI) and all NGOs like the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) or the Aboitiz Group Foundation, Inc. (AGFI) or Lihok Filipina to go into a comprehensive campaign, to request supermarket owners, operators or big shopping malls of Cebu not to use shopping bags anymore. In lieu of this we can task our NGOs to find out the most depressed areas and give them a livelihood program making bags or "buyot" for our shoppers to use. Let's find out where we can find the raw materials for this and get the nod of supermarkets. Then I believe plastic would disappear from our creeks or rivers.
Once this program is in place, believe me, we shall reap the effects of a healthier environment, where the plastic that today clogs our creeks, rivers and esteros would bring cleaner rain water into the Port of Cebu. I dare say that this scheme would surely be acceptable to Cebuanos. We do not need the Province of Cebu or its component cities to enact laws or ordinance to force our people. So just like the suggestion of the Nike ad, let's just do it!
Last Saturday, no less than Armed Forces Chief of Staff Gen. Hermogenes Esperon vowed to file murder charges against the top leaders of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CCP) headed by Jose Maria "Joma" Sison and Fr. Luis Jaladoni and Rep. Satur Ocampo for the murder of the people that they found in the mass grave in Inopacan, Southern Leyte, just across Cebu. These were allegedly the remains of people who were subjected to a Communist purge way back in the 1980s.
The National Democratic Front (NDF) was quick to denounce that this was a "hoax". Come now, is it a hoax? Please don't tell us that the military would dig the graves from other cemeteries and place them in one area just to sell a lie to the public? The truth of the matter is, it is the NDF and the CPP that continue to lie to the Filipino people, that while they allegedly champion the human rights of people they are selective in this as they only cry out for the human rights of their followers. Others like the police or the military have no human rights and that includes former NPA or CPP/NDF members who leave their organization and are purged!
Why do I believe that this mass grave was the doing of the CPP/NPA/NDF? It is because whenever their followers or supporters are lost or considered missing, the CPP/NPA/NDF is the first to make a howl, that the military or military intelligence killed or kidnapped their followers and supporters. For the skeletons found in Inopacan, no one cried out for them. I reckon that the top leaders of the CPP/NPA/NDF probably ordered them executed on the spot and their remains secretly buried without any fuss or fanfare, not even a whimper blaming it on the military! It is for this reason why I fully support the plan by the AFP Chief of Staff to file the charges against the top leadership of the CPP/NDF/NPA because this is no hoax!
