A welcome innovation at the city police office

Someone has reminded me of my promise to continue with the US kids statements on the Bible which I started some columns back. Sorry I forgot. Now let's go on.
7. Moses led the Jews to the Red Sea where they made unleavened bread which is bread without any ingredients.
8. The Egyptians were all drowned in the dessert. Afterwards, Moses went up to Mount Cyanide to get the Ten Commandments.
9. The first commandments was when Eve told Adam to eat the apple.
10. The Seventh Commandment is thou shall not admit adultery.
11. Moses died before he ever reached Canada. Then Joshua led the Hebrews in the battle of Geritol.
12. The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand still and he obeyed him.
13. David was a Hebrew king who was skilled at playing the liar. He fought the finkelstiens a race of people who lived in Biblical times.
14. Solomon, one of Davids sons, had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.
(To be continued....)
The above statements about the Bible were written by children in a Catholic elementary school in the US. They have not been retouched or corrected. In incorrect spelling has been left as is, according to Debbie Duraliza, our opinion editor, who passed this material on to me.
Levity aside now, the Cebu City Police Office now has a text hotline where the public may report on matters pertaining to crime, abusive cops and things that could help the police improve their service and image. The hotline number is: 0921-4931616.
The public is encouraged to take advantage of this police text hotline by reporting ongoing crimes, road accidents, bad cops, and anything that could help CCPO Chief Melvin Gayotin improve the image of his outfit. Anyone can text but pranks are, of course, unwelcome. Personally, I hail the introduction of this text hotline as an effective anti-crime tool and I want to pat the CCPO and Chief Gayotin on the back for this.
A group of sports leaders connected with various sports disciplines met in Manila recently to discuss matters pertaining to the Philippines' search for the first Olympic gold. Actually, the first Olympic gold is of no moment in so far as the amount of sports achievements the Philippines has so far achieved is concerned.
On my last birthday, Nimrod Quiñones, our managing editor and my godson, gifted me with a book entitled "Filipino World Champions" by Juan de la Cruz. The book contains a listing of Filipino athletes in the past and the present who have accomplished extraordinary feats in different athletic events here and abroad. The Philippine achievements in this book, I dare say, could make every Pinoy sports lover proud of being Pinoy even with the first Olympic gold still to be snatched.
