GARBAGE EVERYWHERE. A foreign tourist who came over with friends to witness the popular Sinulog festival was dismayed at the amount of garbage carelessly thrown everywhere. He told an Ear informer, "Everywhere you look, there is garbage. You see piles of garbage by the roadside, at the parks, bus and boat terminals. Worse, you see them on the water, clogging the drainage and destroying the marine life. Don't the Filipinos care about their environment?"
ENVIRONMENTAL INDIFFERENCE. This foreign tourist added, "You have beautiful tourist spots but you don't take care of it. When I was on the ferry crossing the Mactan Channel, I saw people throwing trash into the water. There's no trash bins on the ferry or signs that educate people on proper waste disposal. Please tell your government to take action."
