STAVING OFF TEMPTATION. A young priest has changed the SIM pack of his cellular phone. Reason: At least two women have been sending him text messages the tenors of which he didn't like as "they bother my mind." Someone close to the priest told The Ear that he used to receive "tempting messages" even during unholy hours. The priest was quoted as saying (obviously in jest): "Naninguha pa gani tang makardinal."
EVAT'S EFFECT. "The effect of the expanded value added tax (EVAT) came weeks, even months, ahead of the Supreme Court's decision to lift its TRO the other day," a purchasing personnel of a local hotel said. He added that the "getting out of the eVAT from the freezer" kind of validated the businessmen's raising of the prices even before the High Court's decision. "Pero di lang na mao," he said. "Mosaka pa gyud ning presyo after na sa desisyon sa korte."
