Bong Go extends support to indigents in Virac, Catanduanes

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go gave additional assistance to impoverished residents who were affected by Typhoons Carina and Kristine in Virac, Catanduanes on Thursday.

“Virac residents are close to my heart. Awhile ago, one of you approached me to thank me. In truth, I am the one who should be thankful to you for giving me the opportunity to serve you,” Go said.

Go and his Malasakit Team distributed food packs, shirts, masks, vitamins, fans, basketballs and volleyballs to 1,500 beneficiaries. Go, through the local government of Virac, also gave each beneficiary 25 kilos of rice.

Held at the Catanduanes Convention Center, Go thanked his fellow public servants, including Gov. Joseph Cua, for their unwavering support and dedication to bring government services closer to the people.

Cua expressed his appreciation to Go for his unwavering support to Catanduanes province.

“Sen. Go have visited our place many times. He has never forgotten us,” Cua said.

Go, as chair of the Senate committee on health and demography, also visited the Malasakit Center at Eastern Bicol Medical Center in Virac.

He urged residents to take advantage of the medical assistance available for indigent patients offered by the Malasakit Center – a one-stop shop designed to streamline medical assistance programs from various government agencies.

The senator also led the inauguration of a Super Health Center in Panganiban town in Catanduanes, which declared him as an adopted son.
