P6.8 million shabu seized in Lanao del Sur

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — About P6.8 million worth of shabu was seized during a sting by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Barangay Western, Wao town in Lanao del Sur on Friday.

Gil Cesario Castro, PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao director, said the sting also led to the capture of Alimar Matalicop who sold a kilo of the prohibited drug to agents.

Castro said the operation against Matalicop was done in coordination with the provincial government, Wao police and the Army’s 55th Infantry Battalion.

He added that a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 would be filed against the suspect.
