2 dead, 1 hurt in Caloocan shooting
MANILA, Philippines — At least two persons were killed while one was hurt after an unidentified assailant shot them at their home in Barangay 176, Caloocan at past midnight on Monday.
The victims were identified by their families as Lenard Nogal and Enrico Madriaga, both 25 years old.
According to police, the two were celebrating Madriaga’s birthday with friends when the gunman entered the house and shot them in the head. The two died at the scene.
Madriaga’s mother Lanie recalled their last conversation just hours before the crime, saying that he requested only noodles or pancit for his birthday celebration.
Another person present at the gathering, whose name was not immediately available, was injured and rushed to hospital, while a fourth managed to escape unharmed.
Caloocan police recovered five shell casings and two bullets from the crime scene.
Authorities are still trying to determine the motive for the shooting and are searching for the suspect.
