Sharon, Kiko file cyber libel raps vs showbiz columnist
MANILA, Philippines — Former senator Kiko Pangilinan and actress-singer Sharon Cuneta yesterday filed a cyber libel case against showbusiness columnist Cristy Fermin before the Makati prosecutor’s office.
According to a dzBB report, the complaints arose from the alleged “malicious and baseless” remarks by Fermin concerning the personal and family affairs of the couple.
Fermin’s statements have also affected the couple’s children in the process, it added.
In her YouTube channel, Fermin briefly responded, saying “Don’t shoot the messenger.”
She added that she has yet to receive a copy of the charges filed against her.
This is the second cyber libel case filed against Fermin this month.
Actress Bea Alonzo filed similar charges with the Quezon City prosecutor’s office over what she described as Fermin’s “defamatory remarks.”
Alonzo also sued talent manager Ogie Diaz and a person who claimed to be close to her for their remarks during the online shows of Fermin and Diaz.
Fermin told Alonzo that their online shows were made to report on public figures and that the reports were done “fairly.”
