Rizal Park, Intramuros reopen to tourists

MANILA, Philippines — Rizal Park and three historical sites in Intramuros, Manila will reopen to tourists beginning today, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced yesterday.

The DOT said people aged 18 to 65 would be allowed to visit tourist sites at a limited capacity.

Rizal Park is open to visitors from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a maximum capacity of 500 people at any given time, according to the DOT.

The DOT urged visitors to download the government-backed StaySafe app for faster contact tracing.

Visitors at Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego would have to pay P75 and a discounted price of P50 for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and students. Entry to Plaza San Luis is free.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said the DOT would set up express lanes for fully vaccinated tourists at Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego.

Puyat reminded tourists to comply with COVID-19 protocols while inside the historical sites.
