MANILA, Philippines - Jeorge “ER” Ejercito, son of the late movie actor George Estregan and a nephew of former President Joseph Estrada, posted a landslide victory as Laguna governor.

‘ER,’ who portrayed villain roles in the movies, was proclaimed Laguna governor after posting 74,090 votes garnering an overwhelming 334,530 lead votes against his closest rival Laguna provincial administrator Dennis Lazaro, son of incumbent Laguna governor Teresita Lazaro, who got 260,440 votes.

ER also defeated former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary and former Laguna governor Joey Lina, who landed third with 234,473 votes and Laguna Vice Governor Ramil Hernandez who garnered 123,670.

Lazaro, Lina and Hernandez all conceded to ‘ER.’

‘ER’ is the first Pagsanjeño to be proclaimed governor of Laguna.

Under ER’s nine-year stewardship as Pagsanjan mayor, Pagsanjan continues to progress and attracted hundreds of business locators and investors who continue to fuel its growth thereby generating more jobs for the community.

His efforts earned him numerous awards and accolades, including the honor of being among those recognized as the Top Ten Outstanding Mayors of the Philippines.

Aside from ER, the other winning candidates who were proclaimed includes Los Baños Mayor Ceasar Perez as vice governor and the 10 Board members representing the four districts of Laguna.
