San Juan students get sneakers

MANILA, Philippines — San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora yesterday distributed customized rubber shoes and physical education uniforms to 13,000 public school students.

Zamora said the distribution is part of the local government’s continuing investment in education and support for the city’s youth.

He was joined by city councilors and other local officials.

The sneakers and PE uniforms replaced those previously provided to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

The educational assistance aims to reduce the financial burden of families while ensuring that students have the resources they need to focus on their studies, according to Zamora.
