Rico Blanco releases re-recorded version of 'You'll Be Safe Here'
MANILA, Philippines — Singer-producer Rico Blanco has recorded a new version of the song "You'll Be Safe Here," the song he penned for Rivermaya during his tenure as the band's lead vocalist after the departure of Bamboo Mañalac.
"You'll Be Safe Here" was originally released in 2005, one of the last projects Blanco was involved before he left Rivermaya two years later.
Blanco's new version dropped after the original track by Rivermaya was pulled from streaming platforms.

The singer does not change any of his lyrics for his re-recording, only slightly changing the arrangement, particularly during the second verse.
The cover art for the song was painted by Blanco himself, with the dark trees reminiscent of the original music video by Rivermaya that was set in a forest.
Numerous artists have covered "You'll Be Safe Here" due to its popularity, including Kean Cipriano, Adie, Janine Teñoso, Elmo Magalona, ST. WOLF and, most recently, Moira Dela Torre for the soundtrack of DonBelle's upcoming drama "Can't Buy Me Love." — Video from Rico Blanco YouTube channel
