MANILA, Philippines — Socialite and reality TV star Paris Hilton has released a new version of her debut single "Stars Are Blind" with trans singer-songwriter Kim Petras, 17 years after the song first came out.

The revamped song "Stars Are Blind (Paris' Version) feat. Kim Petras" doubles as the preemptive launch of 11:11 Media, Hilton’s next-gen media company's new music division.

Hilton also released a new version in 2022 exlusively on Amazon Music. The track is also expected to be on the setlist of the one-night-only "Paris Hilton: Live in Concert" at Los Angeles' Fonda Theater next week. Tickets to the concert reportedly took less than three minutes to sell out.

Some of the changes in the song are Petras performing the second verse, both artists singing the chorus, and Petras riffing lines in the outro like "I love you, Paris" and Paris' iconic quote "That's hot!"

"Stars Are Blind" was Hilton's debut single from her first album "Paris." It debuted and peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart when it came out in 2006. The album itself peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.

Numerous covers of the song were made following the release, including one by Petras in 2020, which reportedly had Hilton in tears when she heard it.

The two became good friends and Hilton even starred in the 2017 music video for Petras' debut single "I Don't Want It All."

"[Paris] has just been such a supportive person for me. I didn’t really have a budget, so her agreeing to be in it was amazing," Petras said in 2020. "Ever since then, she has just kind of been a little bit of a fairy godmother to me. She just really gets it and has been saying such nice things about my music and posting my music. I love her for that."

Petras became the first openly transgender artist to win a major Grammy award as her song "Unholy" with Sam Smith won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. She is set to release her debut album "Feed the Beast" later this month. — Video from Various Artists YouTube channel
