Quezon City Green Building Code 2025, inilunsad ng LGU

MANILA, Philippines — Pormal nang inilunsad ng Quezon City government ang QC Green Building Code of 2025 bilang commitment sa pagkakaroon ng sustainable building practices at renewable energy solutions sa lungsod.
Pinangunahan ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte at UK Deputy Head of Mission, Mike Welch at C40’s Regional Director for East Southeast Asia and Oceania, Murali Ram kasama ang ilang industry experts, sustainability advocates, at city stakeholders ang okasyon na layongpalakasin ang 2009 Green Building Ordinance at nakaangkla ito sa target na itinakda ng Enhanced Local Climate Change Action Plan 2021-2050 at Philippine Green Building Code.
Nabatid na ang programa ay suportado ng C40 Cities’ UCAP (Urban Climate Action Programme) Climate Action Implementation (CAI) Programme, at may technical assistance mula sa C40 Cities at pinondohan ng UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Kinakaharap ng Quezon City ang malaking hamon sa paggamit sa enerhiya sa mga gusali na bumubuo ng 60 percent ng total GHG emissions of 7,087,064 tCO2e.
Nasa 3.2 milyon ang populasyon ng lungsod at saklaw ang 160 km².
“The new Green Building Code is a crucial component of the city’s strategy to modernize policy, expand solar deployment, and promote sustainable construction across all sectors,” pahayag ni Belmonte.
Hangad ng programa ang Awareness and Education, Foster Collaboration, at Knowledge Exchange sa pagitan ng C40 cities.
