MANILA, Philippines — Kasabay sa patuloy na pagbaba ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa Metro Manila, higit namang pinalakas ng Quezon City government ang contact tracing capacity na tumaas sa 31.2 contacts traced per positive individual.

Ang bagong contact tracing capacity na naisagawa noong Oktubre 16 hanggang 22 ay nagdoble ng kapasidad noong October 2 hanggang  9  na nasa  14.94.

Ayon kay QC Mayor Joy Belmonte, ang improvement na ito ay bahagi ng strategy ng lokal na pamahalaan para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng  COVID-19 sa lungsod.

“This is very important to us because even though we are focused on vaccinating our population now, early detection of cases is still a vital step in mitigating the spread of the disease,” pahayag ni Mayor Belmonte.

“Contact tracing czar and Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that 37 contacts per 1 positive is the ideal ratio and we are now closer to that ratio because of all the interventions that we are doing to improve contact tracing,” dagdag ni  Mayor Belmonte.

Sinabi ni Dr. Rolly Cruz, QCESU head na ang contact tracing ang isa sa naging susi upang malabanan ang virus. Anya kung walang tamang  tracing, ang mga nagpositibo sa virus ay mabilis na makakahawa sa komunidad.

Sa ngayon ang QC ay may 3,500 contact tracers sa tulong ng Department of Interior and Local Government at ng Department of Labor and Employment.

May mahigit 42,000 establishments sa lungsod ang gumagamit ng KyusiPass, ang contact tracing app ng QC na may malaking tulong para mapahusay ang  contact tracing efforts ng lokal na pamahalaan.

Katulong din ng QC government ang UP Pandemic Response Team sa pagpapatupad ng end-to-end MedAlert COVID Testing and Contact Tracing Platform.
