Pasay LGU tutulungan ang kaanak ng ginang na namatay sa ilalim ng tulay

MANILA, Philippines — Nangako si Pasay Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano na magbibigay siya ng ‘necessary assistance’ sa mga kaanak ni Michelle Silvertino, na napaulat na namatay sa footbridge sa EDSA sa Pasay matapos na limang araw na naghintay ng bus na masasakyan pauwi sa Camarines Sur.

“When initial information about this incident reached me, I immediately directed my staff to seek the names, contact numbers and whereabouts of the relatives of Michelle. I likewise contacted Congressman Gabriel “Gabby” Hidalgo Bordado, Jr., who is also of Calabanga, Camarines Sur,” ani Mayor Emi.

Itinanggi niya ang isang FB post na walang coordination sa concerned offices dahil sa unang araw pa lang ay nagtanong na sila para sa kung ano ang dapat gawin sa labi ng biktima.

Binigyang-diin pa ni Mayor Emi ang probisyon sa Department of Health (DOH) Memorandum No. 2020-068  sa ‘Proper Handling of the Remains of Suspect, Probable, and Confirmed COVID-19 Cases’ .

Aniya, sa Section II. General Guidelines: “3.) Burial and cremation of the remains of suspect, probable, and confirmed COVID-19 patients are safe for as long as strict infection and prevention control measures are observed; and 9.) Embalming of the human remains shall not be allowed.”
