NBI, PNP, PSA pinakilos vs Mary Grace Piattos

MANILA, Philippines — Pakikilusin ng Blue Ribbon panel ng Kamara ang Philippine Statistics Administration (PSA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at Philippine National Police (PNP) para imbestigahan ang Mary Grace Piattos at Kokoy Villamin na kapwa recipients ng milyun-milyong confidential funds ni Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ito’y kasunod ng mosyon ni Assistant Majority Leader at Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Jil Bongalon, matapos ang interpelasyon kay Atty. Gloria Camora ng COA hinggil sa irregularidad sa acknowledgement receipts (ARs) na isinumite ng OVP para bigyang katwiran ang paggasta ng pondo.

“I would like to move that this dubious, spurious, and highly irregular [ARs] be referred to the [PSA] to verify the names enumerated therein if these persons really exist,” ani Bongalon.

Ayon kay Bongalon, ita-tap niya ang NBI at PNP para magsagawa ng signature examination upang madetermina kung tunay ang nasa ARs lalo na ang Mary Grace Piattos.

“I would like to move also that the [ARs] be referred to the [NBI] and the [PNP] for them to assist us in conducting a handwriting or signature examination to verify whether the recipients of these confidential funds are real or not,” ani Bongalon.

Nasilip ng solon ang mga ARs na nagkakaha­laga ng kabuuang P26.32 milyon na ang petsa ay hindi na saklaw ng period bunsod upang maging kuwestiyonable ito.

Ang nasabing mga ARs ay ginamit ng OVP para bigyang katwiran ang P500 milyong confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) na winidraw ng apat na beses na tig-P125 milyon habang ang confidential funds naman ng DepEd na nasa P112.5 milyon ay winidraw rin noong ­huling bahagi ng 2022 at nagpatuloy hanggang ikatlong quarter ng 2023.

Umani ng matinding pagdududa ang ginamit na pangalan sa ARs na Mary Grace, isang popular na chain of cakes and cafes na may apelyidong Piattos, isa namang uri ng sitsirya.
