Compulsory seminar on anti-drug abuse, waste management for Caloocan studes

To inculcate in the minds of the youth the ill-effects of drug abuse and the importance of waste management, a mandatory seminar for the purpose will be required of all new enrolees of the Caloocan City Polytechnic College.

Mayor Reynaldo Malonzo said that aside from the new enrolees, graduating students of CCPC will also be required to take seminars on anti-drug abuse and solid waste management as one of the pre-requisites for their graduation.

Malonzo stressed the importance of educating every one, especially the youth, to ensure the success of the city government’s anti-drug abuse program and to equip everybody with basic knowledge of how to effectively manage their garbage. Malonzo tasked CCPC administrator Dr. Ederlinda Fiesta to strictly implement the program at the city college, as enrolment for the next school year is now about to begin.

The program will be sponsored by the Caloocan City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), in coordination with the local police, headed by Senior Superintendent Benjardi Mantele, and the local Solid Waste Management Board.

The mayor said seminar participants will receive a certificate of attendance, which they could present upon enrolment or upon completion of their respective courses. – Pete Laude
