NewJeans sans Danielle marks 4th anniversary with comeback teaser
MANILA, Philippines — K-pop act NewJeans is teasing its comeback as a four-member girl group following the departure of Danielle late last year.
The 2022 K-pop breakout group known for hits like "OMG" and "Ditto" has been embroiled in a dispute with its record label ADOR resulting in the group entering a hiatus.
A Korean court ruled in favor of the agency, paving the way for members Hyein, Haerin, and Hanni to rejoin ADOR. Danielle's contract was terminated last December while talks for remaining member Minji are ongoing.
There appears to be progress on Minji's front and the group as a whole with NewJeans releasing a series of photos and videos on social media, hinting at its return.
The images were posted on July 22 — at the stroke of midnight — which is the same date NewJeans released its first single "Attention" four years ago.
Each remaining member and the group itself all featured in images billed as "2026 Summer of NewJeans," exciting their fans fondly called Bunnies.
"The special film series was created from the members' shared wish to celebrate their fourth anniversary together with fans," ADOR said in a statement. "We hope Bunnies will enjoy these films as a heartfelt gift."
NewJeans' other hits include "Hype Boy," "Super Shy," "ETA," "Cookie," and "Bubble Gum."
