Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei shares school tips like ‘Linda Walker’ during Philippines fanmeet
MANILA, Philippines — Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei gave school tips like her character Linda Walker in the short drama “The Heiress Who Won with Brains” during her recent fan meeting in the Philippines.
At the event held in Quezon City, Zhang dressed like Linda Walker in her iconic school uniform and delighted her fans.
The actress rose to fame with her Linda Walker character, especially for the latter’s viral moment of getting a score of 719.
When she played the role, Zhang said that it opened many opportunities, noting how she remembered that Linda Walker is a kid and student that never gives up.
“I (have) moments when I’m stressed with the things that I do. I also have problems in life. So, when I think of my role as Linda Walker, I will look at how she will approach this matter, what she will do,” the actress said during a Q&A portion with the students.
“What Linda Walker will do is soldier on, and she will not give up. That thought of Linda Walker gives me peace of mind,” she added.
One big tip that she gave was to study all the lessons ahead of time and not procrastinate before the examination day.
“We should gather what we learn because when I was in high school, I had an exam the next day, I was so stressed. I (couldn’t) sleep because I was procrastinating,” Zhang said.
“So, I advise everyone, especially students, to not procrastinate. All the learning in school, everyday lessons, we should study it head on, not just before the day of your exams,” she added.
She also advised students to take everything step by step and take care of their health.
“Don’t set a very high standard and do things step-by-step. If you have problems, you should seek professional help from doctors or even teachers and your parents to determine that there is a problem,” the actress said.
“Our health should be taken care of. When you are stressed, you can jog or check some good views to feel good,” she added.
Zhang stressed that having a good education is knowing everything you learned by heart with a lot of hard work.
“The most important thing for me is emotional stability and hard work… if they face challenges later on, they will not give up,” “The Heiress Who Won with Brains” actress said.
“They will soldier on because they know that they are stable in mind and they learn a lot,” she added.
Zhang noted that people should be grounded, and they carry on each battle every day.
“It’s really hard if we use shortcuts. We should know the things that we learned from the heart,” the actress said.
“In Chinese, it is taught that the feet should be on the floor. Stay grounded. You should know what you want to say and be smart,” she added.
Zhang had a good time with her Filipino fans and even celebrated her birthday early on, getting emotional as she felt the love of her supporters.
