President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. continues the distribution of confiscated smuggled rice to beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development's Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program in Manila on Tuesday, according to Presidential Communications Office. 

PCO says around a thousand sacks of rice are being distributed to 4Ps beneficiaries under Level 1 (survival), Level 2 (subsistence) and Level 3 (self-sufficient). These sacks came from the smuggled rice worth P42 million seized by the Bureau of Customs during its warehouse raid in Zamboanga City this September.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development continues to distribute P15,000 livelihood grant for rice retailers identified by the Department of Trade and Industry in the cities of  Makati, Manila, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Pateros, Pasig, Taguig and Valenzuela.

This is part of the Sustainable Livelihood Program for small and micro rice retailers.

More than P1 million subsidy set to be distributed to micro rice retailer in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, according to a report of PTV.

The report adds that over 70 beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development will receive P15,000 cash grant under the Sustainable Livelihood Program-Economic Relief Subsidy. These rice retailers were affected by the Executive Order 39 or price ceiling on rice.

The discussion include provision of cash assistance to rice retailers which began last Saturday, September 9.

Rice retailers in three areas in the National Capital Region and Zamboanga del Sur are set to receive cash grant on Monday.

In an update on Sunday, the Presidential Communications Office reports that the small rice retailers who were affected by the implementation of the rice price ceilings nationwide will receive cash payouts.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) earlier reported that the distribution of P15,000 cash grants to affected rice retailers will be held in the municipality of Pateros and the cities of Navotas, and Parañaque and in Zamboanga del Sur. The beneficiaries include 15 rice retailers in Pateros, 161 in Navotas, 129 in Parañaque, and 32 in Zamboanga del Sur.
