Lola Amour joins Coldplay's Chris Martin for 'Raining in Manila'
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino fans of Coldplay were surprised during the band's long-awaited return to the Philippines after hearing lead vocalist Chris Martin sing the chorus to Lola Amour's hit song "Raining In Manila."
The British pop-rock band was back in the country after seven years for its "Music of the Spheres" world tour, and Coldplay was met by a sold-out crowd at the Philippine Arena.
Early in the concert, Chris bantered with the audience by speaking a little Filipino, impressing some with his pronunciation and diction.
"Maraming, maraming salamat. Magandang gabi po sa inyong lahat. Masaya kaming [bumalik] sa Pilipinas," Chris said. "So happy and grateful, and ang ganda niyong lahat! Okay that's enough Taglish."
The bigger astonishment came during the encore portion after Coldplay performed "Sparks" on a makeshift stage in the middle of the crowd.

Chris stayed behind as his colleagues returned to the main stage and teased that the gloomy Philippine weather had him thinking of a song on a constant loop.
The singer then performed the now-iconic chorus of "Raining In Manila" before inviting a few members of Lola Amour to join him.
Lola Amour vocalist Pio Dumayas sang an acoustic version of their hit song as Chris watched them, sitting in awe of the young performers.
When Lola Amour finished singing their hit song, Chris returned to the stage to finish Coldplay's set with "Fix You" and "Biutyful."
