'Jersey Boys': From musical to film

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines- The musical “Jersey Boys” will be on the big screen.

Clint Eastwood directs the movie adaptation of the musical by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, which is a story of the '60s rock group The Four Seasons.

The musical film tells the story of how four boys came together to form a group who gives life to the popular '60s songs like “Sherry,” Big Girls Don't Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Bye Bye Baby,” and “Who Love You.”

“Jersey Boys” shows the ups and downs in the life of a four-man group in achieving  popularity and how their songs had an impact to their generation.

The film stars John Lloyd Young, who reprises his role as the legendary lead singer of The Four Seasons, Frankie Valli; Erich Bergen stars as Bob Gaudio, who wrote and co-wrote all of the group’s biggest hits; Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza star respectively as Nick Massi and Tommy DeVito, two original members of The Four Seasons; and Christopher Walken as mobster Gyp DeCarlo.

“Jersey Boys” will be in Philippine cinema on July 16, and is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
