MANILA, Philippines — Australian-Korean singer Danielle Marsh opened up about her departure from NewJeans following a dispute with the K-pop girl group's label ADOR.

NewJeans members made headlines in November 2024 when they announced their decision to leave ADOR, prompting the label to request an injunction barring them from any commercial activities.

In October 2025, a Korean court ruled that the members must honor their contracts with ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE. Two months later, ADOR announced the removal of Danielle and filed a compensation suit against her.

Danielle spoke up for the first time yesterday, January 12, in a live broadcast on her new YouTube channel where her team said the singer would address fans and not discuss her legal issues with ADOR or her family members.

The singer held back tears and had to compose herself several times while speaking to fans about they messages they sent her. She refrained from discussing the ADOR lawsuit.

"When the time comes, I will update you all about what's happening, about the lawsuit, and about all the things that you, I guess, are curious about," said Danielle.

She said she "fought until the very end to be together" with other members of NewJeans.

"That truth stays with me. NewJeans will always be a part of my heart — each member, with sincerity," Danielle continued. "Though we'll be in different places from now on, I'll continue supporting them as one of the Bunnies."

The 10-minute live video viewed by thousands was also broadcast on an Instagram account, which Danielle confirmed was hers. Its follower count blew up from a mere 300 to well over 750,000.

NewJeans— whose other members are Minji, Hanni, Haerin and Hyein — are best known for their songs "OMG," "Super Shy," "Ditto," "Hype Boy," "ETA," "Cookie" and "Attention." — with reports from Agence France-Presse
