BTS' V reveals what he whispered to Olivia Rodrigo at Grammy Awards 2022

MANILA, Philippines — BTS member V playfully "revealed" to fans what he whispered into Grammy-winning Filipino-American musician Olivia Rodrigo's ear at the beginning of the group's performance of "Butter" at the 64th Grammy Awards, giving many answers regarding the viral moment.

V — also known as Kim Taehyung — took the time to interact with fans on the Korean platform Weverse, and in reply to a question, he said he told Olivia: "It was just important business," adding that while he didn't speak in English, the two of them know each other well.

Another fan expressed her astonishment that Olivia was able to listen to Korean and act surprised, but V clarified he did not whisper to her in Korean either.

In another post, V said that he whispered that his fellow BTS member RM doesn't need a driver's license, a reference to Olivia's hit song which won her Best Pop Solo Performance — one of three Grammys she won from seven nominations.

And in one other posts, V replied that because of nervousness, he had forgotten what he'd said, that it might have been along the lines of "You have to be surprised now."

V admitted that he cried after BTS lost their second Grammy nomination — "Butter" was up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, as was their other hit "Dynamite" last year — but acknowldged that Doja Cat and Sza's song "Kiss Me More" was really good, clean, and a rightful winner.

BTS remained in the United States after the Grammys as they are preparing for their "Permission to Dance On Stage" concert, also being held in Las Vegas, on April 8, 9, 15 and 16.
