Bea Alonzo, Vincent Co back to work after European honeymoon

MANILA, Philippines — Following their low-key civil wedding in July and honeymoon in Europe, Bea Alonzo’s husband, Puregold Price Club president Vincent Co, was recently spotted at the Hakot Relay event in Cavite.

Vincent took part in Puregold’s sports event on Saturday at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus. However, Bea was not spotted at the event.

Vincent appeared to be in a hurry. He briefly interacted with Bea’s new interim manager, Chris Cahilig, before heading off to join the relay race.

Earlier this month, Bea shared photos on social media from their honeymoon in Europe, giving her followers glimpses of their trip to various cities across Italy.

When asked why Bea was not around at the event, Chris replied, “May ibang mundo naman si Bea. Haha!” He also admitted that he was unsure whether Bea is into running.

On Bea’s career plans, Chris said, “As in wala pa rin. Generally, andaming pending, kontrata na ina-ano, andaming endorsements. Nakakatuwa, nakaka-overwhelm.”

When queried about reports that Bea may take a break after her current series, Chris answered, “Well, it’s her choice.”

“Bea has been out of the country for a long time. Kagagaling niya lang ng dalawang magkasunod na international trips. So, di pa uli kami nagkikita. So, ang usapan pa lang namin mga kontrata. Yun lang ang kaya kong ibigay (answers). But the plans and everything, I really cannot pre-empt anything. May mga pina-plano but…” he added.

Chris was tapped as Bea’s new interim manager following the resignation of her longtime manager, Shirley Kuan, in August.

Meanwhile, the Hakot Relay South Luzon leg drew more than 4,000 runners who competed and joined in the “hakot” moments of the race.

It also marked the launch of the brand’s first-ever 8K Individual Challenge, with around 500 runners taking on the full eight kilometers.

“We wanted to offer runners a fresh and enjoyable way to challenge themselves, with the ‘hakot’ mechanic adding a playful and uniquely Puregold twist to the race. Being part of the running community is meaningful to us, and it is a privilege for Puregold to bring people together for a shared panalo experience,” remarked Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Puregold senior marketing manager.

Participants in the team Hakot Relay went home with a Grocery Sling Bag and a Finisher’s Grocery Bag, while solo 8K finishers collected their loot in a finisher’s grocery cart wagon.

“We’re always looking for ways to level up the Hakot Relay and give Filipinos something new to look forward to,” added Piedad. “This year, this meant introducing our first-ever 8K challenge and bringing the experience to an even bigger scale.”

Chris also said that the Hakot Relay Run will hold another event in Luneta in December, featuring local artists.
