Suri legally drops dad Tom Cruise's surname

MANILA, Philippines — Suri Cruise, the only child of former celebrity couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has severed legal ties with her estranged father.
The 20-year-old Suri is currently enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania taking up musical theater in the institute's School of Drama.
Public records obtained by several entertainment outlets indicate that Suri registered to vote in the state's Allegheny County back in October 2024 during her freshman year as "Suri Noelle."
Pennsylvania courts ruled that state residents must use their legal names when registering to vote. Since Suri did not file a name change request in the state, it's likely she had it done in New York, where she lived with her mother, before heading to college.

Suri has been going by Suri Noelle the past couple of years now — Noelle being Katie's middle name — most notably dropping the Cruise name upon graduating from high school.
Tom and Katie began dating in April 2005 and welcomed Suri a year later. The former celebrity couple married in November 2006 but divorced in 2012, with Katie claiming at the time she wanted "to protect Suri from Scientology," which Tom practices.
Since then, Suri has spent her childhood with Katie.
Katie was the star of shows "Dawson's Creek," "The Kennedys," "Batman Begins" and several movies such as "Ray Donovan," "The Giver," and "Logan Lucky." She also debuted on Broadway and as a film director.
Tom previously adopted two children, Isabella Jane and Connor Antony, during an earlier marriage to fellow actor Nicole Kidman but that relationship lasted just over a decade.
