MANILA, Philippines — A "Showtime" contestant was faced with an interesting question that prompted host Vice Ganda to step in and clarify it.

Misis Jawo was a contestant on the revived "Miss Q and A" segment of the noontime show, aired last July 25. The contestants are only given a few seconds to give their thoughts on a particular topic or question.

Vice was the first to read the question, but hesitated to read it on air. He and the other hosts, MC and Lassy, took turns looking at it without reading it out loud, apprehension and amusement marked on their faces.

When it was finally decided that Vice will read it, he made a disclaimer.

"The views and opinions of the candidate do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the show, the host, the management, and the company," the comedian said.

Vice then read the question: "Kung ikaw si Batman, kakampihan mo ba si Robin 'pag nag-away sila ni Darna?"

Misis Jawo initially replied: "I believe, madlang people, kung ako po ang magiging Batman, definitely kakampihan ko si Darna sa laban nila ni Robin Padilla..."

Vice immediately interrupted the contestant to clarify that the question referred to Batman's sidekick, Robin, and not the actor-turned-senator. Darna is a Filipino superhero created by Mars Ravelo and who was played on screen by Angel in the 2005 GMA-7 superhero series.

"Sorry, sorry. Si Robin lang ang tinutukoy," Vice said.

After the clarification, the contestant revised her answer, saying she would still side with Darna because the Filipino superhero is an idol and an icon of the LGBTQIA+ community.

The exchange came amid renewed public attention on Padilla following actress Angel Locsin's recent social media post addressing the senator, who was once her co-star in "Asian Treasures" and fellow judge in "Pilipinas Got Talent."

In her post, Angel questioned why Padilla remained silent when she was previously red-tagged despite, according to her, knowing the allegations were untrue.

"Ang tanong ko lang, nasaan ka nu'ng panahong nirered-tag ako kahit alam mong hindi totoo? Actually, kasama mo pa nga at kachikahan 'yung mga nangre-red-tag. Naghugas-kamay at pumikit sa katotohanan," Angel wrote.

Robin, however, refrained from criticizing the actress, saying the public should instead understand her, suggesting she may be going through a difficult time.
