BINI release 'Forgotten Island' track 'A Parallel World'
MANILA, Philippines — The Nation's Girl Group BINI just dropped "A Parallel World," an original song for the soundtrack of upcoming animated film "Forgotten Island" inspired by Filipino folklore.
BINI was previously announced to feature on the movie's soundtrack alongside fellow Filipino acts SB19, Lea Salonga, Ruby Ibarra, Carl Angelo, and Sophia Laforteza of another girl group Katseye.
Liza and H.E.R. — who lead the film's voice cast as best friends Raissa and Jo — will also lend their voices to the film's title track "BRB," which like "A Parallel World" has Filipino lyrics.
"You and I, be stuck together. Babangon kahit matumba. Laugh so hard, we cry together. You and I ride the tide together," goes the second chorus while member Stacey sings in one verse "Makulay ating daan, isang milyon ang larawan. Matapos man ang mundo, maligaya ako sa nag-iisang tala sa langit."
All members of the P-pop act get to sing in Filipino, though Colet, Aiah and Sheena also get their own solo lines like Stacey.
A music video for "A Parallel World" features clips from the film as well as BINI recording the song in the United States when the group was there for a historic appearance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
BINI had also previewed the song during the opening shows of its ongoing "Signals" world tour, with clips of the girls dancing the choreography also making it to the music video.
"Forgotten Island," premiering in Philippine theaters beginning September 23, follows Raissa and Jo as they are stranded in the mystical world of the forgotten island of Nakali, where the only way home may mean losing a lifetime of memories and emotions. — Video from BINI's YouTube channel
