Anjo Yllana ordered to pay P3.5M in damages to TVJ

MANILA, Philippines — Former “Eat Bulaga” mainstay Anjo Yllana has been ordered by the Mandaluyong City Regional Trial Court to pay P3.5 million in damages to TVJ Productions in relation to the allegations against his former co-hosts during his livestream in 2025.
Presiding Judge Gloria Monica S. Lopez of Branch 279 on Tuesday, June 30, ruled in favor of the production outfit, which produces the noontime show led by the trio of Sen. Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
The 18-page decision ordered Yllana to pay the said amount for temperate damages, moral damages, exemplary damages and attorney’s fees and litigation expenses, according to a report by News 5.
The case against Yllana comes from his TikTok videos and livestreams in 2025, where the complainant alleged that the former host made false, malicious and defamatory statements against “Eat Bulaga” and the hosts.
The ruling has forbidden Yllana, his agents and representatives from publishing, broadcasting, sharing, distributing, or reuploading on any social or digital platform any defamatory statements against TVJ Productions and “Eat Bulaga.”
Both TVJ Productions and Tito Sotto sent statements to The Philippine STAR regarding the ruling.
TVJ Productions said it welcomed the court’s decision describing it as a “definitive vindication of the integrity of ‘Eat Bulaga,’ its hosts and management.” The production said the ruling serves as a “stern warning” about the careful use of social media.
Sotto in his own statement said that the Philippine justice system works.
“Fake news and besmirching reputations have no place in a sane society,” Sotto said in a statement sent to The Philppine STAR.
