Ryan Bang confirms breakup with ex-fiancee Paola Huyong
MANILA, Philippines — Host Ryan Bang revealed that he has been single since January after making efforts to patch things up with his ex-fiancee, Paola Huyong.
The “It’s Showtime” host opened up about the breakup to fellow noontime host Vice Ganda in the latter’s vlog, which was released on Saturday, June 6.
Vice had Ruan and fellow “It's Showtime” host Jackie Gonzaga as guests and asked Ryan about the status of his heart.
“I’m single. Personally sa side ko, January,” Ryan confirmed the rumors of their breakup that circulated late 2025 after Paola took down their photos on her social media.
Ryan and Paola had been together since publicly confirming their relationship in 2003 and announcing engagement in June 2024.
In December last year, Ryan said he was still trying to “fix” his relationship with Paola.
"Tinry ko eh, tinry ko na ayusin. Kasi alam ko, nung panahon na 'yon, hindi ko maintindihan, ba't 'di umabot nang ganito. I was trying, I was hoping, I was praying na maayos," Ryan said.
Ryan said he could not believe that the breakup was happening because he never expected it. He admitted that he had shortcomings in their relationship but emphasized that he had been trying to make things work.
He also maintained that he had never cheated on Paola, dismissing rumors that infidelity was the cause of their breakup.
"S'yempre sa relationship, meron din akong kasalanan pero I never cheat. Hindi totoo 'yun, 'yung sinasabi ng mga tao," Ryan said.
"I never cheat. Even before, I never cheat. Hindi ako ganon. Serious din ako sa relationship,” he stressed.
On the brighter note, Ryan said he is grateful to both their families, especially Paola’s parents, whom his described as “sobrang bait.” He revealed that both of their families wanted them to work things out.
However, the relationship ultimately ended because of their cultural differences. Ryan said he was given a sign to stop, which led him to make the difficult decision to let it go.
“Yes. Magkaiba pala 'yung paniniwala, magkaiba pala 'yung gawi, tsaka magkaiba pala thinking lalo na pagdating sa marriage," Ryan said.
"Talagang tigil ang mundo. Sobrang hirap. Sobrang pagsisisi nung lahat. In all of my life, ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-hard and darkest time of my life,” he concluded.
