Mimiyuuuh meets Hollywood idols, opens up on bashers

The “devil wears prada” is strutting back into the pop culture runway. MImiyuuuh’s interview with the movie’s lead stars, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, is the ultimate plot twist. Armed with wit sharper than a couture stiletto, MImiyuuuh nailed it. From her humble beginnings to rubbing elbows with Hollywood icons, Mimi has redefined what “glow up” is.
Here’s my exclusive e-mail chat with Mimiyuuuh:
Between Anne Hathaway’s charm and Meryl Streep’s aura, who made you internally scream louder?
“TBH po pareho po talaga! I LOVE THEM BOTH EQUALLY!!!!!!”
On a scale of 1 to “Devil Wears Prada” meltdown, how close were you to losing it during the interview?
“Para pong Andy Sachs looking for the unpublished ‘Harry Potter’ manuscript! GANON PO KA OA since it’s my first time doing this kind of interview, tapos with ICONS PA!”
What surprised you most about Meryl and Anne?
“Na they are warm and giver sila when it comes to answering questions.”
If you could steal one trait from each: Anne’s and Meryl’s, what are you taking?
“Na no matter how successful you are, you should always keep your feet on the ground. And TBH, people have their own issues and problems, it’s so easy to be kind.”
Among all their answers, which one really struck you?
“When Meryl zip her mouth kasi I really want to know the tea. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE STANLEY AS NIGEL!”
If there would be a Pinoy version of “Devil wears Prada,” which character do you want to portray and why?
“I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY AS EMILY! May nagtanong sakin did you have an embarrassing moment with your bosses, wala po ako nasagot kasi I think I’m really good at the things I do. Same as Emily! PLUS, I ALSO WANT TO GET FREE CLOTHES FROM PARIS FASHION WEEK!”
Have you ever had a Miranda Priestly moment and what triggered it ?
“Gusto ko po kasi always maganda yung nilalabas naming content and when I’m not happy about it, I want to redo it again. Just like when Miranda killed the autumn jackets and pulled up the Sedona shoot. Even if it will cost me more to produce another content, I’ll do it.”
When you look back at your struggling years, what stands out in your memory?
“Looking back, I’ve been THAT girl since day one. My mantra is: ‘You can take THAT girl out of Baclaran, but you can’t take the BACLARAN out of THAT girl!’”
What’s the best part and toughest part of being Mimiyuuuh?
“Right now, many people are saying that I’m not relatable anymore. It’s tough because you want to connect to your audience effortlessly but on the other hand, it also means I’m growing as a person. I don’t have to be stuck from where I was just to make people happy! At the end of the day, I’m doing all of this for MYSELF.”

‘Samahan ng mga Makasalanan’ on Prime
As one of my fave quotes goes, “Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.” That could very well be the tagline of GMA Pictures’ satirical comedy “Samahan ng mga Makasalanan” (Sinner’s Club).
It will be available for streaming on Prime Video beginning April 24. Topbilled by David Licauco as Deacon Sam, the film tells the story of his character being assigned to Sto. Kristo, a notorious haven for sinners. He believes that no one is beyond saving. So he forms the “Samahan ng mga Makasalanan,” through which he aims to steer the townspeople toward redemption.
Yet as the residents transform one by one from their evil ways, the deacon suddenly finds himself facing a battle of redemption and temptation he never saw coming.
