Zephanie, Michael Sager reunite onscreen in 'Born to Shine'

MANILA, Philippines — Kapuso artists Zephanie and Michael Sager will reunite onscreen in the GMA Afternoon Prime series "Born to Shine," which premieres Monday, March 23.

The series also features Olive May, Manilyn Reynes, Tina Paner, Smokey Manaloto, Roselle Nava and Vina Morales, along with the television return of Tessie Tomas.

Completing the powerhouse cast are younger talents Naya Ambi, Gaea Mischa, Mitzi Josh, Chloe Redondo, Angelika Santiago, Aaliyah de Gracia and Miggs Cuaderno.

The series follows Minchie (Manilyn Reynes), a former performer who leaves her group after a failed relationship and withdraws from show business.

She later raises her daughter Jennie (Zephanie), who grows up with ambitions of becoming a P-pop idol.

Jennie's pursuit of a music career is shaped by her mother's past experiences and the challenges of entering the industry, including competition and personal struggles.

"Born to Shine" is directed by Rod Marmol. The show airs Mondays to Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime and Kapuso Stream. It will also be available internationally via GMA Pinoy TV.
