Bea Alonzo sets next TV project with Tom Rodriguez, Maricar Reyes

MANILA, Philippines — Actresses Bea Alonzo and Maricar Reyes will make their return to television in the upcoming political thriller "Whispers from Heaven."
GMA Network unveiled photos of the story conference held last month for the series which also stars Tom Rodriguez, Jason Abalos, Jake Macapagal, and Cassy Legaspi.
"What if heaven had something to say? Find out soon as Bea Alonzo leads the upcoming political thriller series 'Whispers from Heaven,'" teased the network online.
Award-winning director Zig Dulay will helm the project coming out next year alongside associate director Jorron Lee Monroy.
"Whispers from Heaven" will also coincide with Bea's 25th anniversary in local showbiz which began with the 2002 shows "K2BU" and "Kay Tagal Kitang Hinihintay," the latter the first of many projects with love team partner John Lloyd Cruz.
Bea's last television appearance was an episode of "Magpakailanman" last year, coincidentally with Tom, but her last headliner series was "Widows' War" alongside Tom's ex-wife Carla Abellana which ended in January 2025.
Maricar, meanwhile, has not been onscreen since the 2019 movie "The Gift" and the show "Bagani" the year before. This will be her debut project with GMA.
The two actresses previously worked together in the 2014 series "Sana Bukas Pa ang Kahapon" while both were still signed under ABS-CBN.
