Heart Evangelista, mom Cecilia encountered robbery in Paris lodging — Ogie Diaz
MANILA, Philippines — Socialite-artist Heart Evangelista had a traumatic encounter with a robber while in Paris with her mother Cecilia Pawayal-Ongpauco, according to showbiz journalist Ogie Diaz.
On the February 23 episode of his "Showbiz Update" video series, Ogie began narrating a blind item about a "fashionistang actress" whose apartment abroad was burglarized last month, adding that the lodging was in Paris.
Ogie shared that the apartment's doors and windows may not have all been locked allowing the intruder to break in.
Making the robbery more traumatic was the personality being accompanied by her mother in the same room, and the "fashionistang actress" clutched her mother's hand so the latter wouldn't get hsyterical.
An alarm went off in the lodging startling the burglar, who only made out with the personality's bag which contained a semi-precious stone, Ogie relayed.
"Sobrang in shock yung mommy habang kalmado naman si aktres, parang grace under pressure kasi pag titili ka baka saksakin ka na lang," the showbiz jost continued, adding that both women locked looks with the robber.
Ogie eventually shared the blind item was about Heart and her mom Cecilia, who were both in the French capital last month for Paris Fashion Week.
'Traumatizing'
Earlier this month at the media launch of the second season of "Heart World," Heart's reality show on GMA Network, the socialite-artist touched on a traumatic incident that occured to her and Cecilia while teasing what to expect from the series.
"I'm not very sure yet if I'm ready to speak about it but it's in the works, something really bad happened to my mom and I," Heart said, shifting a look to Cecilia who was present at the event.
Heart said the encounter was "sobrang traumatizing" and at the time was not prepared to discuss it, but did say it would come up in the latter portions of "Heart World."
Season 2 of "Heart World" does not premiere on GMA until March 7 so it remains to be seen if the traumatic incident was indeed the burglary narrated by Ogie.
Last month's Paris Fashion Week was Heart's grand return to international fashion events, and it was made even more fun by the presence of her "momager" Cecilia.
