Kate Valdez, Fumiya Sankai confirm breakup: ‘No bitterness’
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Kate Valdez and Japanese vlogger Fumiya Sankai appealed for empathy and respect as they move forward separately.
Kate and Fumiya confirmed their breakup in a joint statement posted on their respective Instagram stories on Monday.
The ex-couple acknowledged the confusion and speculation surrounding their rumored split that made the rounds online. They said they never intended to create confusion through their silence and “recent changes online.”
Kate and Fumiya thanked their fans for supporting their careers and their relationship. The couple sparked dating rumors in August 2024.
“Following considerable thought, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways. This decision was made with respect, understanding, and care for one another,” they said.
The exes also said the separation is necessary for their personal growth, acknowledging that they need time and space to focus on “healing and self-development.”
“There is no bitterness between us, only gratitude for what we shared and hope for what lies ahead,” they added.
