Liza Soberano, Ogie Diaz exchange messages after past tensions

MANILA, Philippines — Actress Liza Soberano has responded to a recent birthday greeting from her former talent manager Ogie Diaz, signaling a cordial exchange following earlier acknowledgments of strained ties.
On the latest episode of Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update, Diaz shared that Soberano replied to his message greeting her on her 28th birthday.
"Alam mo, nag-message siya sa akin. Sumagot. Sabi niya, ‘Thank you, Tito Ogie. I hope you and the family are doing well,'" Diaz said.
"Thank you, Liza," he added.
Diaz said there is no lingering ill will between them, adding that time has helped ease past misunderstandings.
"Ang tatanda na namin. Kumbaga, magtatanim ka ba ng sama ng loob? Once upon a time, naging anak mo 'yan. Nabigyan ka rin naman ng magandang career because of Liza," he said.
He also recalled how Soberano's career supported him and his family during a difficult period.
"Lagi ko rin namang sinasabi, if not for Liza, Diyos ko, 'yong aking anak na si Miracle, sa'n ko huhugutin 'yong mga panggastos sa ospital, 'di ba?" Diaz said.
Past tensions publicly acknowledged
The exchange comes after Soberano said in a 2023 interview with Boy Abunda that she previously harbored ill feelings toward Diaz, stemming from issues during her time under his management.
Diaz publicly greeted Soberano on her birthday through a Facebook My Day post.
"Happy bday, Liza Soberano! Sana ma-achieve mo ang dream mo to make it big in Hollywood!" he wrote.
"Sana ay mapaligiran ka din ng mga tamang tao para mas mabilis mo siyang ma-achieve! Love you, Hopie!" he added.
