MANILA, Philippines — Filipino singer Marcelito Pomoy received a standing ovation for his performance at the The Trump Estate in Florida to close off 2025.

On his Facebook page, Pomoy posted last December 29 a video of his performance of Andrea Bocelli's "Time To Say Goodbye" in Mar-a-Lago, the private estate of US President Donald Trump.

"Thank you for the standing ovation. It is always a dream for me to sing 'Time to Say Goodbye' by Andrea Bocelli," he said.

"Andrea and Sarah Brightman turned this song into an iconic finale for musical performances around the world, and I feel truly honored to perform it each and every time."

Trump was not present for that performance "due to a demanding day of international meetings" according to Pomoy, but the president did see Pomoy sing at Mar-a-Lago's New Year's Eve Celebration Party.

This time Pomoy performed "The Prayer," showing off his capability for dual voices in front of the president and other guests including First Lady Melania Trump.

"What a start of 2026! A real dream came true," Pomoy wrote on Facebook, thanking those who made his performance possible.

The singer later shook hands with the Trumps, receiving praise from the president whom he also got a photo with.

"No more words needed. The best possible kick off of 2026," Pomoy said in the caption for his photos with the Trumps.

Pomoy rose to fame as the Season 2 champion of "Pilipinas Got Talent," going on to be third runner-up for "America's Got Talent: The Champions" in 2020.
