Claudine Barretto reacts to 20-year tale about Gretchen in elevator

MANILA, Philippines — Claudine Barretto blasted those who perpetuated the alleged elevator encounter between her sister Gretchen Barretto and a businesswoman who reportedly owned the Makati building around two decades ago.
Claudine shared an article where Philippine Stock Exchange director and First Resources Management and Securities executive Vivian Yuchengco debunked the popular myth between her and the actress.
“The urban legend with Gretchen is fake news!” Yuchengco was quoted to have said in a Bilyonaryo article.
“And to the person who wrote it and used my face on it more than 20 years ago, I am not an old lady!” Yuchengco added.
The 20-year-old urban legend says that Gretchen boarded an elevator in Makati’s RCBC Plaza, owned by the Yuchengcos.
To this Claudine reacted:
“Sisiraan nyo ate ko.Ngayon alam nyo na FAKE NEWS! TAGAL NA NA CLEAR NI MADAM YAN! NAKINIG BA KAYO!!! ANG INGGIT NAKAKA MATAY!!!” Claudine wrote on Facebook on Saturday, December 6.
Gretchen’s younger sister added that she hopes the rumormongers will be forgiven for spreading it. She also thanked those who came to her older sister’s defense.
The urban legend says that Gretchen told her bodyguards to instruct the “old lady” to vacate the elevator because she wanted it all to herself. It would allegedly later turn out that the old lady was the owner of the building, and thus, had Gretchen banned from entering its premises.
Gretchen has already denied the story. In 2015, she outrightly said it is not true when an Instagram follower asked her about the supposed elevator incident.
