Vecna returns in new 'Stranger Things' trailer for final season

MANILA, Philippines — Dark things will emerge from the Upside Down and into the real world during the fifth and final season of Netflix's hit series "Stranger Things."
The streaming platform dropped an official trailer to accompany the teaser it released last July, giving a more extensive look at the events that will take place in the show's final outing.
Initial clips tease parts of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) as Queen's "Who Wants To Live Forever" plays in the background. The scene is followed by the characters in military-occupied Hawkins, Indiana, which is still reeling from the villain's rampage in the previous season.
"We're really starting to lose it, being stuck in here with no end in sight," says Finn Wolfhard's Mike. "Maybe tonight is our break, to find Vecna and end this once and for all, together."
More scenes at a radio station are shown, as well as Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) emerging from hiding to flex her powers. She cautions her friends that their the mission at hand is not like their "Dungeons & Dragons" campaigns.
"He's planning to end our world and he's not going to stop until we're drained of every last ounce of suffering," says Mike's sister Nancy (Natalia Dyer), whose clip washing off her bloody hands immediately cuts to Joe Keery's Steve Harrington hugging Gaten Matazarro's Dustin.

Action sequences flow in succession as "Who Wants To Live Forever" booms louder, including attacks of Demogorgons in town.
The trailer ends with Vecna summoning the rigid body of Noah Schnapp's Will, seeking his help in one last task.
Executive producer Shawn Levy, who directs two episodes in the final season, told Tudum that the action and visual effects are "next level" but is happy "the emotional center remains the same."
"Part of the magic of this show is that even as we evolve, even as the storytelling becomes more epic, it's always anchored in these characters that we love," he added.
Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Charlie Heaton, and Maya Hawke are returning this season, with "Terminator" star Linda Hamilton joining the fray.
The final season of "Stranger Things" will have a three-part release: Volume One (first four episodes) on November 27, Volume 2 (next three episodes) on December 26 after Christmas, and the finale on New Year's Day. — Video from Netflix Philippines' YouTube channel
