‘Marites lang’: Chavit Singson denies rumors linking him to Jillian Ward
MANILA, Philippines — Politician Chavit Singson once again called rumors linking him to showbiz personalities as “marites,” brushing off romantic links to actress Jillian Ward.
The 84-year-old Ilocos politician shut down the rumors at a forum on Tuesday, referring to them as "marites" or slang for gossip.
“Marites lang ‘yan, marites lang. Naririnig ko nga ‘yan. Marami ngang nali-link sa akin. Pero puro marites ‘yan,” Singson was quoted in reports.
The politician is aware of the rumors, with some stemming from blind items.
It is not the first time that Singson was linked to an actress. He sat down with Yen Santos for the latter’s vlog uploaded last August, where they both talked about the persistent rumors linking them to each other.
Yen denied the rumors that they have a child together, adding that the young child was her youngest brother and Chavit was her brother’s godfather.
